Very awesome gun and very complete; some small problems by K. Eckert
I got this dart gun through the Amazon Vine program. We have couple of Nerf guns but nothing as awesome as this one!
This is an amazing gun. It comes with a std clip and then two max clips containing 18 darts each. It has a scope, a shield, and even a tripod stand. Overall very impressive and a lot of fun. Seems to work very well overall; we didn't have any problems with jams (although there is an access panel to clear them if you need to).
I do have a couple small complaints. The tripod falls off pretty easy making that a bit frustrating at times. Also the shield can get in the way of the sight if you don't have it adjusted just right. With the automatic fire this is a loud Nerf gun, so don't be planning on shooting this thing while you are sneaking up on someone without totally giving away your location. This is also a heavy gun; with the 4 D batteries this thing weighs at least 8 pounds; my three year old has a bit of trouble holding it and firing it because of the weight (that and it is almost as big as he is). Also even with the max clip in of 18 shots, you blow through them really fast. You will spend more time trying to find the 18 darts than you do shooting anything.
The above being said this is a fun gun; even at point blank the darts never hurt or sting (although you can definitely feel them). The clips pop in in a pretty realistic way and the automatic fire is loads of fun. Definitely a neat purchase if you are into stuff like this. Just consider the points that I mentioned above before purchasing. I would definitely invest in one of bandoleer kits or a vest to hold clips if you are serious about this; otherwise you just go through darts too fast.
Good things
- Automatic fire is very fun
- Realistic action
- Doesn't jam frequently
- Lots of neat options (sight, tripod, shield)
- Darts don't hurt when they hit you
Things that need work or drawbacks to this gun:
- Tripod falls off easy
- Shield can get in way of the sight
- Noisy
- Heavy
- Even with 18 darts you blow through them fast and will spend more time picking up darts than shooting them.
