For the Harry Potter-obsessed kid in your life by Susan Sweet
I asked my Harry Potter-obsessed, 8-year old son, who received the LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts game for his birthday, what he thought of it, and these are his verbatim comments:
"I it SO fun. I play it almost every day! It was fun to put together and play. You can move the people, you move the stairs around, and then you get the stuff inside the game. You have to block your opponents to stop them from getting what they need to get. It looks super cool and it's all about Harry Potter, my favorite thing in the world right now!"
This toy/game really is fun for kids who a) like building with LEGO, b) love Harry Potter (especially those reading the books and who have seen at least one film), and c) enjoy playing games that go on a long time. I was surprised at the continual play value, since he does play it several times a week with his babysitter or friends, and when he is not reading HP books or asking to play the Harry Potter Wii game, he will happily play this game (sometimes while wearing his Harry Potter-style glasses!). It requires concentration and strategy, and can be played by 2-4 people, so as a parent I'm happy with the versatility and imagination inherent in this game.
